Welcome to THE FISHBOWL which is what we are calling our new lake house! It’s been a DREAM of mine for a long time to have a lake house in Texas for our family to spend summers at, but also to have as an investment property and it finally happened! 👇COMMENT BELOW your favorite summer lake house activity!

Earlier this year, Shaun and I saw the collapse of SVB Bank and felt the need to rebalance our portfolio by adding more real estate. Since 2020, we've been renting lake houses on this same lake as a safe place to take the kids since travel was restricted, and fell in love with this lake in the process! I've perused online listings for lake properties for years, but never felt like we could ever bite on one until this banking situation happened. We found a great deal we couldn't pass up, will enjoy using it as a family, and the home will also provide cash flow income from of VRBO or AirBnB rentals.

After finally getting the house keys, it’s now time to start renovating/furnishing and decorating it! But before we start all of that, I figured we would give you an empty house tour, that way you’ll get to join me on the progress of the house decoration! (Honestly, right now we only have food, folding chairs and some air mattresses to sleep on, but hey…it’s still fun right LOL! 🤪) I started meeting with my design friends, and they have some amazing ideas for the place... but it’s going to take a few months. For now, just in time for summer, we are just SUPER EXCITED to start spending some time here and enjoy being on the water!

First thing you’ll notice, is that we found a house big enough for our whole family and then some! We wanted to make sure that everyone could enjoy it together. You’ll also notice that we don’t have a boat yet 🛥️… but hopefully we’ll be getting one soon! I know Shaun and Dakota are excited for that part! Paisley is perhaps the MOST excited to spend the summer in the water, as she practically lives in our pool, and Dax said he’s gonna spend a ton of time fishing on the dock!

I used to have a lake house and I just wanted to advise you Shaun and Mindy, please make sure that the dogs are on the highest tick protection possible. We thought our dog was protected because we told our vet, we have a lake house in the woods. I think we had to try two or three pills before we got the right prescription strength so we wouldn’t find anything crawling on our baby!

Hey Mindy! I would love a video talking about how you guys started your business. Things like what business knowledge/schooling you had to know how to even start a business, what did you and Shaun do before you transitioned to working for yourselves full time, do you have business partners to help with the more complicated details, how long did it take to see a profit (you absolutely do not have to go into detail about money/income), how you decide prices for products based on how much they cost to make, etc. Basically anything behind the scenes that you'd be willing to share. I find that kind of stuff to be so fascinating lol
