Back about a year ago or so I caught a mouse in the Victor Quick Set trap and it was unharmed. I woke up and checked the trap and he just laid there in it, so I grabbed the trap and the mouse started moving. The trap managed to get him by the neck and I don't understand how he survived, but he did. I put him in an empty ice cream container with holes in the lid so it didn't suffocate, put a little food in with it ( sunflower seeds), and went on a long hike out into the woods to give him a new home.

If he survived the trap, he earned his second chance at life.

When I came home, I promptly threw that piece of trash trap away and went back to the good, old-fashioned snap trap.

I was wondering also, have you ever found any of your stolen traps? I have been using the old wood base victor traps for decades, and I have recovered several of them while clearing out thickets in the back yard.

I prefer traps that overkill because I don't like suffering. "Slow choker" isn't for me.

I'm constantly fighting the rats in my backyard and garden. They're crazy smart. Pretty sure they're escapees from NIMH. Looks like you got the same!
