Front suspension Knocking Noise.

Knocking noise from front the front is oh so common occurrence. This can come from a Failing ball joint, top strut mount bearings, drop links, wishbones etc.

Some are easily spotted but it’s always best to take the weight off the wheels to give you more freedom to move.

A crow bar or similar with assist between the components to assess any play.

As test you could find a speed hump and drive over it at different speeds and have a good listen. The same works for the back.

It’s important to note that some front struts do have play on the top mounts. Sometimes this can be seen from the top under the bonnet

We had a car in for testing a few years back. Now I am not saying that some vehicle testers are crooks, no sir. However, this lower ball popped clean out of the socket, when the tester was checking for play after😮 jacking it up. He said it didn't feel right, just driving it to the inspection lift.
We all shuddered to think that someone drove that around like that. Wear like that takes time. We think more than a year so someone was turning a blind eye at a testing station. Scary.

Bro I have this problem with my 14 mustang just recently put new shocks did it less but didn’t fix the problem. Only the right side when I go over potholes or just bumped roads. I can’t figure it out

I have a chrysler 300c 2007 5.7 i have changed lower control arm with ball joint upper control arms inner and outter tie rod none of them fixed my clubking sound at low speeds over bumps and when i turn wheel side to side not very loud though

Did you have the wheel suspended when performing the test or was it on the ground?

Having Similar noise, but sounds like it's coming from front-center under car and not the wheel wells.

I have almost this exact sound coming from my dodge ram. For awile I’ve noticed a rubbing like feeling and noise only when I turn right. I took it too the shop got everything manifold related replaced everyone told me it was that. $1400 later it’s still doing it. I’m at a loss

I have replaced sway links, lower control arm, ball joints, struts, and schocks. My elantra 2017 still makes a horrible noise when going over uneven surfaces. Liund clung noise? Car drives runs with no issues, no shattering wheels when driving a perfect on curves at fast speeds. Anyone???
