CDPR Finally Gives Us An Update on What's Going on With Cyberpunk 2077's Expansion

If i was CDPR i would be making this expansion as epic as possible as a send off to the engine.

My hope is that they add more interaction with the city such as, being able to sit and eat at restaurants or bars, or other activities (gambling, more races, etc.). Being able to interact with the city add a lot to the immersion that we all enjoy from the game.

Can't wait for the DLC, looks very interesting. Will be awesome to see how V handles probably working for people they may not want to, more so than usual clients. Like Governments and high up Corpos. And what will V do if they work for such people. I haven't played since just before the Edgerunners anime came out (still need to see the show), but if they keep it up it'll definitely look more hopeful for the world to continue and for me to rock out. I usually go with siding with Johnny, if they introduce a character to try sway my stance that'll be noice to encounter. (I've played on GOG for about 424 hrs, 36m since launch), I enjoyed learning about the world and making builds mostly. Lucky I was able to see a video suggesting Cyberpunk would most likely perform best on PC instead of console before it launched, which made me get a gaming pc to use this one alongside other games. Stuff still needs reworking and fixing to the core game, but I wish to see it go further in future with features and such. Have a good one, Choombas! 😁

Yes, Edge Runners was a fantastic short series. I hope other game studios consider creating such one-off theatrical creations in this style since it used actual in-game locations and scenery.

I imagine this cuts down on the animation costs as they can just translate direct renders of actual in-game locations with custom "anime" style renderer and maybe come hand tweaking to get "the look" right for anime style.

I noticed that the Summer Games Fest account retweeted CDPR's teaser announcement, so I'd be willing to bet that's when we'll get the updates on Phantom Liberty. been a HUGE fan of the game since it dropped december 2020. despite all of the issues, bugs and crashing from the release version I still loved the concept and the gameplay. spent about 75 hours on my wife's PS4 and when it went on sale last in 2023 I bought it for our newly purchased Series S and sank another 85 hours into another campaign run! (since we were in the market to upgrade anyway, and I knew I had to get it again on next-gen if I wanted to play PL whenever it drops)

Can’t wait! Been holding off playing. The replay-ability factor of this game shot up a lot for me with mods, I’ve got an embarrassing 320 hours. Must ….hold…till expansion.

I got the game for 30 bucks after the last patch. Instantly fell in love with it. Well over 300 hours in. 2.5 playthroughs so far and got all the achievements. For me it's a masterpiece. I tried watching Edge Runners 3 times couldn't get into it. Played cyber punk and then tried watching again and loved the show.

I picked it up during the sale, not because of edgerunners but because it was on my backlog and I seen it was mostly patched up... Great game so far.

Great news mixed with bad. Love the games they produce, I even loved cyberpunk, warts and all, on release. But if the shoddy release didn't affect the bottom line, I worry they won't learn the lesson they should. Hopefully the reputation hit was enough to hammer it home.

As long as going forward they are more careful with their releases considering how miraculous it is that they have bounced back, I'm happy with this.
