Watch Meghan Markle Address Colombian Crowd in Fluent Spanish

That was the moment Meghan Markle spoke Spanish during a panel with Afro-Colombian women in Colombia yesterday.

Early in her career, Meghan learned how to speak Spanish as an intern at the US embassy in Argentina.

During the discussion, the Duchess proudly revealed that her daughter, Lilibet, has “found her voice” at three years old.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrapped up their four-day visit to Colombia on Sunday.

Fluent means you can have a conversations in Spanish. Why is she speaking in english every time minus her little phrase? I can speak phrases in Spanish too. That doesn't make me fluent.

I can't believe that this channel it's so thick that you would promote her fluency in Spanish (actually I can believe it.) Only three percent of Colombians can speak English so that's basically everyone on stage with her. When you are in a foreign country that has only 3 percent English speakers you being a fluent Spanish speaker will talk the entire time in Spanish. Did she do that? Nope.

Oh my God she doesn't speak Spanish why do they keep trying to push that lie!?!? I was in school in Spain for not even two full years of my childhood and even I could say in Spanish, "yo me recuerdo cuando era niña que mi voz siempre era escuchada y es un lujo que muchas mujeres no se permiten." Anyone fluent in Spanish could. I could say it in Spanish and Arabic and without a DOUBT in French, Greek, and English since that us what I grew up speaking. So why does she claim, like many Americans do in fact, that she speaks such and such when all she means is she can say 1 thru 10 and conjugate the present indicative!?!?

As a Spanish native speaker, what I hear is a person pretending to speak a language she doesn't speak, struggling with pronunciation, and not even understanding what she is saying because someone else is clearly dictating her through an earpiece. It's nothing against her, whom I don't have the pleasure to know, it is the simple and plain truth.

This is not fluent Spanish. This is a carefully rehearsed 1 min speech in which she unwittingly exposed herself as a liar. There was no interaction between her, the VP or the audience.
