Never ever take a plea in a criminal case. Always go to trial

Thanks for this. At what stage are these standards supposed to be considered? From the start throughout, or only during jury deliberations?

It’s interesting how watching Law and Order caused this video to show up in my feed haha!

Hi, one of my note says that ‘standard of proof’ is also called the ‘evidential burden of proof’.
Is it correct?

A nice description which should be put before jurors.

Wish I would have known this a few years ago

Too bad the jury in the Karen Read trial didn’t watch this.

I'm involved in a criminal case lol. My child and I were walking along the side of the parking lot trying to make it into a large well known store. We were looking down and talking, all of a sudden we heard a car speeding and something flash in front of us, we looked up and a car was pointed and driving at us, we jumped back, as the car missed us by an inch we attempted to spit on the car, my spit blew away in the wind. The crazed angery woman jumped out of her car and started calling us racist names, then stated she's calling the cops numerous times, she continued to scream at us as we walked into the store. We came out one hour or less, 5 cops, 5 cop cars were waiting for us. They detained me for one hour in the freezing cold and let the crazed woman do whatever she wanted including drive away. They gave me a ticket. Apparently, if you're married to a cop as I believe she is, you can try to run over people you don't visually like with zero consequences. The DA's office is prosecuting me and refuses to back down because they know if they lose I'm going to sue all of them. Also, there's numerous video footage of everything that to place. This is MALICIOUS PROSECUTION. Hopefully the truth will prevail.

Good day.
I recently was in court for theft, and there were 2 police witnesses who were the police that arrested us. But now their statements were exactly the same, they did copy and paste on the statements. And I only interacted with one police, while the other attended my co accussed. And even the times they gave the court of when they got a tip of, it's not the same time. Do I stand a good chance in winning the case?

("so, what happens when an entrapment defense is juxtaposed...like, for instance, being charged for being in possession of a billy club after years of being denied services for 646.9pc complaints?")

This is nice and all, but in practice nearly 70 million Americans have a criminal record. 2.1 million Americans are currently incarcerated. Since most people can't see past the big numbers and correlate it to what that actually represents. That's more than 1 in 5 Americans have some form a criminal record. More than 1 in 150 Americans are currently incarcerated.

No evidence. No case. All just hear-say, accusation, allegation. What evidence leads to a conviction?

But even then whose to say a prosecutor or judge wont have more weight and say over the probable cause that its enough and convincing enough. Or just bias opinion, and of course no one is there to say to the judge he's breaking his oath by not following this step ladder.
