i grew up on a military base and now as an adult i’ve also moved 4 times just in the past 2 and a half years alone and packing up everything you own to move always gives me so much anxiety no matter how many times i do it ;-;
my last move was a month and a half ago and im still not fully unpacked, im so tired 🥲

Movers are doing the work of the gods. I had movers on my last move and it was wonderful. I tipped them like $150 between two guys. They deserved it, big time.

Just moved a couple months ago and movers are absolute lifesavers. They somehow managed to move all our stuff from one third floor apartment to another third floor apartment in the span of a couple hours. Very gently and carefully too! They got big tips that day.

My bf’s dad is the guy who drives the 18 wheeler of stuff when you move. He also helps pack/wrap the larger stuff. When he gets done with a move, he has up to 150-200 moving blankets to be folded up for use next time, and my bf usually gets that job. As a person who just used movers in the past to move my already packed boxes, I was having trouble picturing what the hell that many moving blankets could be used for. Suddenly makes sense.

Sidenote in case you got left with any blankets—we sometimes nab his older soon to be decommissioned blankets for plant stuff. Some have a backing of burlap, so we face the burlap out and staple it around a fence plank or larger piece of wood to use as a totem for plants to climb up.
