I don't have an issue with Marvel furthering story lines by giving the mantle of a superhero to a new character, as long as they're not doing it just for the sake of doing it, or to monetarily capitalize from appealing to a progressive demographic with an already established character. I think it's nice to have more racial representation, it helps broaden the appeal to and creates more comic book fans from different walks of life, but why not create a new character altogether? Taking established characters and changing them seems forced sometimes, and a bit lazy. At one point in time people didn't know who Superman was, but they grew to love him over time, the same can be done with creating new superheros for these characters.

DC is doing well with Rebirth which had the most sales in May and probably in June too.
As for Marvel.... I'm disappointed with every unnecessary change they make.
Can't they just write new storylines or make new heroes? Than take already established ones and change their sex or color. WTF Marvel? Do that in the movies and we'll riot.

And pardon me, boys club? I'm wagering anyone who believes its a "boys club" would be the same ones who rarely see the inside of a comic book store.
Everyone and their grandmother knows at least one female who loves comics just as much as any guy they know. Hell, I know more females into comics than I do guys that are into it. Could we stop pretending that there's a mystical force that is preventing females from enjoying comics? Cause there's not, thanks...
Getting rather sick of seeing gender politics being shoehorned into places where it's quite literally not needed. Shoehorned gender politics characters are just tacky, bland. Unoriginal, tasteless. And lack context in most cases.
Progressives seriously do want to suck the originality out of comics and replace said originality with unwanted gender politics.
But oh no, what would we know. We're all apparently "trolls" who only have been super long time fans and hardcore comic nerds. What would we know, eh? Fucking ridiculous.

Instead of changing lovable and memorial able characters why not make new super heroes as a fresh new character that people can relate to today

Maybe is not that we don't want diversity, but maybe we grew up loving Tony Starks, Steve Rogers, and Bruce Banner.
Why not make new diverse culture heroes with new powers?
