Shoutout this guy for making a actual method. It does take a little bit of time to take it apart and stuff but it does work so trust the process

Thanks for the guide, it helped my fix my controller and feel brand new, when I took a look at the buttons the X button was broken but luckily had a spare controller that was broken already so replaced the part instead of having to buy a new controller. Just have to be careful of not loosing the small bolts and not breaking anything inside the controller.

Thanks so much dude! I spilled hot sauce all over my controller and was scared it was gonna break, but after cleaning the outside and then watching this to clean the inside, my controller feels and plays like brand new :) this video also taught me how to customize my buttons just in case I ever want to in the future. Thanks so much once again!!

Thank you much for providing such an awesome video mann, this helped me a ton 2 years later woww, my controller had this problem for time now and I just kept it in my drawer for ages since I couldn't use it due to literally the most important botton on the ps4 controller stuck lol ("the X button") but today I just decided to give it a try and guess what? I was lucky enough to find this video on the top of my recommendations. Keep helping people out like this man, Much love💚 I really appreciate it.💯

It’s much easier to change the button assignments. Settings—> Accesibility. —>Button assignments

I had an issue where the controller buttons were always registering input as well as being stuck, I jist poured vodka on it while mashing the button until it worked, this is a much smarter solution

Thank you so much. This really helped as my D Pad silicone worn off and I bought the replacement part from Amazon. I can confirm this works on v2 controller. Just the boards inside the controller are slightly different, but pretty much the same overall.

Thanks for saving me £50 of purchasing a new controller.

Thank you so much for this video. Very clear instructions, helped me enormously in understanding the problem with my pad and ordering new parts. Generally I would advise all of us to just contact Sony if within warranty. Otherwise, try and be careful with how you open the outer casing, I used a flat screwdriver to pry all sides one by one carefully so I couldn't damage anything with too much force.
