Employment Law: Sick Days

Показать описание
There are laws in place that govern the accrual of paid sick leave for California employees and how this accrued leave can be used, and these laws can vary, depending on whether the employer is subject to the state or local statute. In general terms, California law requires most employers to provide paid sick leave to most employees, with some exceptions, and any eligible employee denied sick leave or discharged for using accrued sick leave may have grounds to file a lawsuit for damages, including payment of the sick leave withheld, administrative penalties and back pay, and may also seek reinstatement to his or her position.

I have 1 job split between two separate companies and pay checks, one my boss owns and one he is employed by himself, he says I already have sick time with one of them and claims they are related so I only get sick pay with the company we are both employed by, seems fishy to me

The law says this and that, but when you feel like shit, you stay home, and if you feel like shit often enough, your employer is not going to like you !
