How to Select in Blender 3D for Beginners

This Blender tutorial covers how to select objects and mesh in Blender. We will cover selection in both object mode and edit mode, beginning with the basics and working into some more advanced selection tools. I just watched 20 Ways to select in Bender... still can't find "select :p

Where does blender hide "select this piece of mesh that is within this one object, " when in 3dsMax you just select Element and there you go?

lasso select shortcut is ctrl right click

The keyboard shortcut for lasso is just repeatedly hitting W, which cycles between tweak, box and lasso select tools.
