You know it's a good jumpscare effect when you still get jumpscared even after you've been warned already.

I love how you can see the ghost, expect it to come over and scare you. Then still be jumped when she DOES come

The puppet is more unsettling than the finished movie version.

ngl the "puppet" is way more scary than the actual ghost in the movie

Mama is another level of creepiness. The way they made the creature move is just..
I'll have a nightmare after this

This is the 1st movie that gave me a uncontrollable scare, basically u don’t move or scream. I just shake and can’t control it

This fckn creature is one of the most terrifying ever, usually the best is when you dont realy see anything in movie, or just glimpses that makes your imagination work, as soon as they show what you are dealing with, the mystery is over and for me it will lose that real terror, but this one is different👍🏼

I personally think the best ghost effect was Salazar and his ghost crew from Pirates of the Caribbean. The way their ghostly bodies floated and moved as if they were still underwater, along with their mangled appearance due to the explosion, was pretty clever and eerie. I'm waiting for an actual horror movie to utilize those methods in their films

There's still something about these CGI ghost effects that don't come close to the otherworldliness that I miss from the stop-motion ghost effects of the 1980s. Those are so eerie in a way that still often holds up well today.

I have yet to bring myself to watch this movie. I'm not easily creeped out.
I think it would've been even more creepy with the actual puppet instead of the cgi thing

The floating hair, for reasons beyond my understanding, obeys the laws of physics if, and only if, she is a gas (moving in a vehicle?).

That intro clip sounds like AI Sam more than real Sam

I don’t know if you have watched it yet but you guys really need to check out the rolling giant by Kane Pixels. It is the most realistic looking effects that I think I’ve ever seen

The puppet looks like a demon in human shape not knowing how to move and the weight looks good for a lost soul that is still holding onto strings of their humanity
