Discord Users Got Randomly Banned!

Tons of innocent Discord users are getting banned for no reason at all. What gives?

Well believe or snot, Discord's 100% existing Trust and Safety team are at it again with their abysmal support. Randomly banning you for a message you sent probably months ago. But if you're a goodie two shoes, this shouldn't happen. BOOM CONTEXT BABY. Discord's T&S team are the best at avoiding any context and banning people for something as simple as saying 12. As long as the person reporting you is creative enough to twist your words into something that could be passed off as something breaking the TOS, you could be in trouble.

So listen up soldiers as I tell you what to do and then also listen while I proceed to explain T&S and bash on it.

SO uhh since people missed it, I'll put it here. Getting someone to say 12 on discord wont get them banned. However sleuthing through messages and using them out of context can and has gotten people banned. Make a joke that you are -7? Banned. Maybe a poor use of an fictional example to ease you into the topic, my bad.

Also apparently Discord support is outsourced, TnS is in-house. Still pathetic that people are being left out to dry (and yes, some people do deserved to be banned and are trying to say they are being ignored by TnS)
Amazon is also a mixed support system. Not fully outsourced, some in house Amazon support employees and some outsourced employees.

I still stand by the fact that discord ban appeals are HORRIBLE. I got banned 2 years ago for "participating in a raid" while unknowingly joining a server in the same time period other people were "raiding" it. Literally had no involvement, but they didn't care and wouldn't even let me speak to a real person. I've never heard of discord appealing a perma-ban.

Having to send a photo and ID is a terrible idea with how many people are old enough for Discord yet under the age of 18, like that's literally just asking minors to send pictures of themselves to this huge company that probably won't even do anything even with that.

This feels like something that could have been something discord genuinely needs to combat the predators, but it’s such a poor way of handling it that it’s just going to be a problem.

As someone who has literally gone through this, just happened a couple days ago I admit; it sucks. But the whole stages of grief thing was spot on. I just accepted at the end and made a new account, because honestly I didn't care that much cause I had so much servers and random stuff all in it so starting fresh isn't that bad. I literally had to go on TWITTER to get a response out of them because at that point I swear they just ignore you lol, Discord had ZERO respect for their members and they show that greatly in support.
Context of why I got banned? Someone said the words "Im have 11 years"
I jokingly said the exact same thing, and got banned

This is such a Discord Trust and Safety moment. Banning people who are literally innocent for made up reasons but then all those scammers and other people actually doing malicious stuff never get touched in any way.

About more than a year ago some people i know were joking about being like 1 year old and guess what? They got banned.

I have had an open ticket to Discord support for three months, and another ticket that’s been open for 19 days as of writing. I have received no response whatsoever. These tickets aren’t reporting minor issues either, these are reports of serious issues involving people using their platform for illicit activity and the potential harm of the people around them; Discords neglect here is abhorrent.

This happened to me. Got my account disabled for being "under the age of 13." Long story short, I got ghosted by support for 16 days before they decided to reply and enable my account. I wish they wouldn't just randomly ban for no reason.

8:25 you should never link an account of a social network with your personal gov ID. That's the best thing a company could have to link all of your data

This reminds me of an experience i have with their support team.
I reported a server owner because they were underage and sharing explicit images of themselves. A bit after i reported it i left the server. Its been almost 3 years since that happened, still no response.

To be clear i sent them tons of screenshots of the conversations about the situation but they didnt even respond.
For context the server was masked as an LGBT support type of server but was actually a match making platform with people sending nude pics of themselves on the daily.
