In the concluding segment of the video, both oilers presented are "Closed System" oilers. On the left, the Watchdog model is designed for setups where the oil inspection port aligns with the oil's midline. It's typically used to replace the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) Viewport or "Bullseye, " facilitating simultaneous air and oil exchange with the bearing housing via a single port, since its surge chamber is only half-filled with oil. On the right, we see the Closed System Opto-Matic Oiler, suitable for scenarios where the access port is positioned beneath the oil level and can also link through the drain port. The closed-system Opto-Matic Oiler balances the air from oil feed from the headspace air above the oil level in the bearing housing via a pressure balancing line. In the closing sequence, the balance line is hard-piped stainless steel, but shielded flex line is easier. The actual vented version of the Opto-Matic can be seen in the first image.
