Look, I was born and raised in NYC. However, on my matrilineal side, I was the descendent of both a revolutionary mayor of north Carolina (meaning he was mayor of a small city in NC during the American revolution of the late 1700s ....) and that also made/makes me the descendant of men who were officers in the confederacy.
Of course I was influenced to either whitewash or be canceled living in NYC and LA as I did for much of my early adulthood. But I choose to honor history while also being a force for truth and freedom for all in my current incarnation.
So ...
