Nidecker Supermatic Snowboard Binding Review 2024 | What's Good

“This binding has Nidecker's new Supermatic system, which makes it different from your traditional binding. A little more tech and adjustments are needed when setting it up. But once it is set up, you can set it and forget it. It's super comfortable. And these straps, with their unique design, are super supportive around the foot. Setting and adjusting for your foot size is simple. Once you adjust the straps, you're good to go first. First impressions: light, comfortable, super supportive and really comfortable. Stepping in and out of the drop-in system is easy. Even though this is a hybrid binding, you aren't compromising on any of the support and stability of your regular binding. It has as much support and performance as any other binding in the market. The binding sits in a medium flex area, so it's playful and fun for all levels of riding. This is a perfect binding, for the rider who doesn't want to sacrifice the support and quality of a binding but wants a little more convenience. It's super easy, super convenient, and super comfortable.”—Harison Gray

These are a great product, I used them last season in Japan in all conditions, when set-up correctly they're super easy to use.

Im a older snowboarder 50+ I used them first time last Saturday..my first issue was stepping OUT lol. If the Highbacks is set on a lot of forward..I was not able to press the rear exit button. After adjusting it a bit further to the back I could reach the exit button a lot easier..stepping in is awesome and sometimes in deep snow you can unstrap the bindings like a normal binding. I like the technology and my day was a lot easier without sitting down all the time.

I have these. Only used so far on indoor snow but I'm impressed so far.

My cyan ones should be here Monday. Hoping the snow holds out so I can try them.

I bought my son a pair of these last year. He loved them. Super easy to get in and out of. The only issue was the repeated in and out all season destroyed the toe of his boot on the back foot. Front boot is like new and back boot is now trash. I think the underside of the toe strap might be too rough and the constant sliding the toe in destroyed the toe of the boot. Nidecker might need to address this.
Anyone else have this problem?

of all the step ins im move interested in these, im waiting for a stiffer high back and to see over time how much people break them. but yeah deff want these as they develop..i like stiff high backs thats all, like stiffer than Cartels.

They look cool. Not sure if they are that light though. Felt pretty heavy in the shop

You said light? These are lighter than the previous? Because I heard they were heavy?

could you just give us the precise number instead of just saying it's light?
previous gen weigh around 1.3kg per foot, which is about 30%more than average normal bindings

You don’t use your boot, that is guaranteed to break the lever. They spell that out pretty clearly in the user guide.

got them the second season now. they are heavy asfxxx. thats the biggest downfall. second the exit lever is really hard to get activated. you just have to push it so far down, its a hassle. If they could figure out a way to make it 30- 50 % lighter and have a other exit lever, no one would ride a traditional binding anymore.
