Should We Pray To Jesus OR The Father?

Who should we be praying to as Christians - the Father, Son or Holy Spirit? Since we know God is a trinity, should we pray to all three?

My mother would always begin her prayer like this, "Dear heavenly Father, we come to you in the name that is above every name, in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord..." Our mediator to the Father is Jesus. I don't think it's wrong to pray to our Mediator. Even so, Jesus taught us to pray to the Father. Great question! Consider this though, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my Spirit” (Acts 7:59). At Paul’s conversion, he prayed to Jesus: “Lord, what wilt thou have me do?” (Acts 9:6). Ananias conversed with Jesus when Jesus spoke to him in a vision (Acts 9:10–14). And the very last prayer in the New Testament is addressed to Jesus by the Apostle John: “Even so come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20).

When I pray I talk to him. Thank him for saving me. I tell him I love him. I don't do it in a scriptural manner .I say the Lords prayer every week but I mainly talk to him.

It's also worth noting that at the time Jesus taught them to pray to the Father he was still with them in the body during his earthly ministry so that may change things.... I think it it doesn't matter too much because like you said they're all the one and are not jealous in that way. Working in perfect union I think the Lord has understanding for his creation and if it were a major point there'd be a chapter or letter all about it.

😅 I ask the Holy Spirit to guide my prayer and pray to The Father in the name of Jesus. Sometimes I talk to Jesus afterwards or talk to The Father about Jesus helping me and instead of talking to myself throughout the day I speak to The Holy Spirit. All this time I’ve been concerned so, I speak to Jesus before The Father if I feel convicted about something. So good to know I’m not far from how it’s supposed to be or meant to be done!
