this man got severe frostbite which caused all his fingers to turn black. But why? Well, frostbite is a skin injury that occurs when the blood vessels beneath the top layer of the skin freeze due to prolonged exposure to extremely cold temperatures. It starts with the skin turning pale or red, and if not treated quickly, the affected areas will turn black and must be amputated. So what should you do when this happens? Well, trying to use direct heat to warm the area will make it worse. Instead, soak the affected body parts in warm (but not hot) water for a few minutes until they soften and return to their normal color.
