Huh, was not expecting AniMat to give this movie a rating that's higher then the predecessor.
He's probably gonna hold nothing back when the last "Hotel Transylvania" come out though.

I was surprised as you to find the movie enjoyable. I was not big on the first Boss Baby either and expected a pointless sequel, but my family wanted to see a movie together and this was the only family movie playing at the theater at the time. I found it a lot of fun and would actually say that the franchise could sustain a third movie if it keeps the same level of heart and energy.

This sequel's definitely better than the first one. Yet the irony is, you won't understand it unless you've already seen the first one.

But still my top favorite DreamWorks movie hands down is the Prince of Egypt and two of my favorite franchises from dreamworks are Kung Fu Panda and how to train your dragon.

I went to go see this and Black Widow yesterday, and as someone who found its predecessor mediocre at best, I would say that this movie is a marginal upgrade from the original, but still not something I would want to watch again. But to its credit, it was still better than what I was expecting, so if you're like me and you're not big on the original, maybe give this one a shot. You might like it better than I do. I'm not saying that there's a need to rush out and go see it, but there are worse ways you could spend your time in a movie theater.

Plus, I did have a free ticket movie reward, and I figured I might as well use it on this movie, so at least that's a bonus. That, and I did end off yesterday by watching Black Widow, which I had a great time with, so at the end of the day, I'm happy with my most recent theater going experience.
