Modern Family star Sarah Hyland claims she feared for her life when her ex-boyfriend Matthew Prokop allegedly choked her during a blazing row.
The 23-year-old actress, who plays Haley Dunphy in the hit sitcom, claims her ex abused her both verbally and physically during the last four years of their relationship. And she has just got a restraining order against him.
In documents allegedly seen by TMZ, Sarah claims Matthew pinned her against a car during an argument about her outfit in May and repeatedly called her a ‘c***’ as he choked her.
‘His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life,’ she said.
Sarah then asked her TV mum Julie Bowen to help her ‘peacefully end the relationship’ at her home but when Matthew saw she wasn’t alone he ‘ran outside into the backyard and began screaming’ before throwing a lighter at her.
