This has honestly mind blowned me cause why didn't I think of just getting another tub? Helps prevent less contam depending on the strain

Thank you so much for your explanations! Seriously, all the other videos from people talk about how everything has to be sterile and I know enough about biology and sterile processes...so it just didn't make sense that everyone is so stressed about it lol
I would love a tutorial for your mason jar spawning!

Thanks for the video. I’m going to try it now and I’ll give you an update in a couple of weeks!

Very nice. A few tips I use. I like to pack the edge, add more coir to level to help stop side-pinning, and I wash my hands with Hibiclens (chlorhexidine gluconate) without any issues going w/o gloves. Also wanted to note the vid thumbnail is using millet as food, and I like it best for similar dense growth and many good flushes.

@Stay.Shroomy I so appreciate your channel and that of Stipe, from the Shroomery. Good to have accurate information, in contrast to so many channels that just repeat long debunked myths and misinformation about cultivation. Thank you.

Nice, good info on gloves/no gloves during that step.

With coir I don't wear gloves, but any bagged substrate material that has manure, definitely wear gloves.

Ive tried so many times. Ive used bags ive used jars ive used petri dishes ive used toats. Every time it gets that green and blue mold. The only time ive grown mushrooms is one time i squirted half a syringe into a 50 gal pot i was growing bud in organically. Mycelium took over the whole top layer about and inch thick just under the surface. But it never fruited. It was Ecuadorian cubensis i think, was years ago.

There are studies showing that full spectrum blue light or white light are the best for mushrooms.
Even while kept in 24/7 light scenarios with no periods of darkness.
They prefer far-end blue light so full spectrum blue light is the best, like 7000K but I go with 6000K full spectrum which is slightly blue. 5000k is absolute white and is still better than red light. Red lights hinder mushroom growth.

I let my grain spawn go until it's almost all white with mycelium.

OK, I have a question: When I'm traveling in a camper(min)van, I want to grow mushrooms. BUT I only have room for the smaller showbox. Is that larger box on the outside absolutely necessary? I would love to add mushrooms to my already small microgreen garden, but space is a concern.
