In the Orthodox Church, the second Sunday before Great Lent, we commemorate the Final Judgement. One of the hymns we sing goes like this: "When I ponder on the many terrible things I've done, I tremble for that fearful day. The Day of Judgement. But trusting in your loving compassion, like David I cry out, 'Have mercy on my O God according to your great Mercy!'"

the Gospel is a two-edged sword ... the same Word that saves one (who believes) condems the other (hardened in unbelief) ... on this side of eternity we plead with people to be reconciled to God and we weep when we see people turn away ... we know that judgment is coming

We just talked about that in church today, we all want judgment, just not for ourselves. But we will be judged, and it will come unexpected like a thief in the night, so always be prepared, don’t say you’ll do it later when it comes to following Christ, because it could happen now.

It's a very rare circumstance where one should ever share the good news only. In most circumstances, if you share the good news, but never the bad news, you are creating false converts. People that come for the gifts and not the giver get neither.

Through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

I think the full Gospel message can be summed up in this way. No one on Earth is good. We are all wicked creatures according to God's standard. We have no hope within ourselves to be saved from our wickedness through self-righteous means. Because of our hopeless wickedness, we all deserve only death. However, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, who is Himself God, to pay the price of our wickedness which we could not, aside from the eternal judgment of death, pay ourselves. By believing in the only begotten Son of the Father, God accounts His righteousness to us as a covering so that, through Him, all might be saved from the wrath of His judgment. It is not God's will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance because God desires mercy more than judgment.

I’m glad you mentioned this. The wrath of God is a tricky subject that isn’t talked about. Even as a Christian most of my life, I just started learning about it.

God is loving, but He's also just. Whoever does not accept God's love will have to settle for God's justice.

Yup we are saved from judgement. Some people just know they are saved but they don’t know from what they just know no fire anymore

Most Christians think it’s more important to tell people they going to hell. There is people that feel like they living in hell at this very moment🤷🏾‍♂️
