Contrary to popular belief, doughnuts are actually not an American invention. It does spark a lively debate about the origins of doughnuts, but one thing that's for sure is that doughnuts and doughnut chains are still alive and well in America.

Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts, and Legendary Donuts are just a handful of popular doughnut chains that Americans can’t live without. Some of us start our day with a doughnut and coffee, and some of us end our day with it.

Dunkin’ stopped giving a shit about donuts decades ago. Ditch the chains and find a local spot. You get fresher donuts and the prices are better for the actual quality of the product that you get.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are okay... unless you get them when the “hot light” is on. Then they literally melt in your mouth and are simply the best! The Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the grocery stores? Meh.

Krispy Kreme is the absolute worst. I bought a dozen a couple years ago, ate one and put 11 in the trash. I now only buy from local, family run bakeries.

I disagree I still love Dunkin’ Donuts. I find Tim Horton’s coffee to be ho hum. Krispy Kreme has great donuts and horrible coffee.

My last visit (and I mean LAST) visit to Dunkins I ordered 4 filled donuts, each of which contained a "filling" of less than one level teaspoon of "fruit" (jelly really) or "cream" (don't want to think WHAT that might have been!) As this video says, Avoid At All Costs!

In daylight defiance as former manger, they are locally own which means ones groups are different from another. I know for a fact the pne I ran, got them fresh every day, but we didn't make them in house.

I disagree about Dunkin. The raised strawberry frosted have been my favorite doughnuts for decades.
