North India का air pollution crisis सिर्फ seasonal नहीं है—यह एक national emergency है। Environmentalist Vimlendu Jha के साथ India Gate पर हुई बातचीत में यह साफ हुआ कि यह crisis हमारी health और future को कितनी बुरी तरह प्रभावित कर रहा है। Toxic air में AQI levels 900, 1500, और 1700 तक पहुंच चुकी हैं। हर तीसरा बच्चा सांस की तकलीफ झेल रहा है, और दिल्ली में रहने वाले हर इंसान की उम्र 10-12 साल कम हो सकती है।

Vehicular emissions, construction dust, और coal burning जैसे perennial sources पूरे साल pollution फैलाते हैं। लेकिन, focus episodic sources तक ही सीमित रह जाता है। Vimlendu Jha also informed me about a shocking reality: Air quality monitors often don’t work, and when they do, they max out at 500 AQI, while we are actually breathing air as toxic as 1500 AQI.

We need urgent and collective action, and this can only be achieved with strong political will and urgency. Solutions lie in expanding public transport, relocating thermal power plants, and linking air pollution with public health policies. यह सिर्फ दिल्ली का नहीं, पूरे देश का संकट है।

As Parliament meets, irritated eyes and sore throats will remind us of this crisis. Clean air is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. This is about saving lives, protecting our children’s future, and restoring dignity to our nation. We must act now.

Everything mentioned by Mr. Jha is correct. It is private vehicular problem and various other factors.
Solutions can be :- More usage of public transport(Bus, Metro etc),
We can introduce public bicycle system like France, UK etc.
Also yamuna river shall be cleaned as it would create a huge carbon sink.
