The place where I live in Shanghai, the AQI is 30-37. Shanghai’s population is 25 million. It is not propaganda, I have checked it myself.

I lived in china around 7 years in kunming, Guangzhou, and Haikou . And went to sanghai and bejing as well for few days for vacation. I can truly say each and every of their cities are truly incredible for living.

Having lived in Shanghai for three years (2014-2016) and visited Beijing multiple times, I was shocked to see their fantastic AQI levels of 30 recently, especially when Delhi’s AQI exceeded 500. It’s heartbreaking and so frustrating to witness this contrast!

I'm living in China and particularly in Beijing! When I thought of coming here in 2022, I have the same concerns of air pollution but I was stunned to see how clean the air is. It's been two years here and I can tell you that Akash is very true about the revival of clean air here in China.

It’s true that Beijing has conquered the pollution. I am living in Beijing since last two years and I have seen the maximum AQI was around 50-60 and it was for only few days. New Delhi should learn from Beijing how to tackle this problem.

In the top institutes and universities in China research is focused on developing environment friendly solutions. They are really working on it. Whereas, in India the story is very different.
I don’t think it is about the competition but we can definitely influence and learn.

I am from a small town of West Bengal. Here, the AQI is around 300 . Every single day in the afternoon people burn garbage . The truth is that no one gives a shit about pollution. Like corruption, we've normalised pollution. Now we have to give taxes to buy air purifiers and breathe fresh air

Beijing used to suffer from severe pollution, primarily due to the presence of numerous heavy industries in the vicinity, including steel mills, cement plants, and thermal power plants, as well as the need for residents to burn coal for heating during winter. China is the world’s largest steel producer and a major user of thermal power generation. The pollution had its reasons. Over the course of a decade, China has transitioned to cleaner energy sources, managed vehicle emissions, and improved the heating environment for farmers to reduce burning.

As an environmental engineering I can say that the solution is very easy to implement. There is already Pollution control boards in every state but boards are not hiring environmental engineer who can strict these regulations and all old engineers are corrupt. Lack of engineers in industry and lack of engineer in government.
