How to fix error mysql shutdown unexpectedly? How to avoid mySQL shutdown unexpetedly? Fix mySQL shutdown unexpectedly. Does your XAMPP crash unexpectedly often? Do you face issue of mySQL not staring often? I have faced this issue many times and fixed mySQL not starting issue many times manually. But that is not pretty. We know how to avoid this issue all together.

XAMPP control panel crashes a lot.
For those who don't know, XAMPP is the a PHP development environment. You can run PHP based sites like WordPress, Laravel or any other PHP based CMS or framework using XAMPP. XAMPP provides APACHE server and for database it offers MySQL. Usually MySQL crashes more often.

To use XAMPP, we have to open XAMPP control panel, and we start two services.
Apache and MySQL.

If MySQL crashes, sites that use databases do not work. PHPMyAdmin will not work and we can not access databases stored in MySQL. We can restore crashed MySQL. I have shared two tutorials on that linked below. We can recover crashed MySQL in XAMPP, but its better if we can avoid it from start.

Here is a tip that is working for me.
When you open xampp control panel,
start Apache and wait for 3 to 5 seconds.
And then start MySQL.
Wait for 3 to 5 seconds again.
Now you can close XAMPP or minimize it.
Closing it will not shut it down.
It will sit in taskbar.
It is one precaution.
Other equally important precaution is to,
do not shutdown PC while XAMPP is running.
Properly close service first, then quit XAMPP,
and then shutdown PC.

These are two tips that you wanna keep in mind to avoid XAMPP or mySQL crashes. In most cases it should work. If not you can use alternative like wampp server.
