One of my absolute favorite intros to any video game. The music and imagery make this a beautiful introduction to a remarkable game.

How to give Elizabeth a happy ending ?
Play this scene until you see the girl, dont talk to the girl, turn off your game. DONE

You know it’s an idealised version of Paris when the Parisians are all so polite.

I stayed at least for an hour just chilling and admiring the beautiful view

"I'm sorry, cherie, but that has not been written yet". This shows how this whole introduction Elizabeth's perspective of Paris, only a tear. The book she referenced "The Age of Innocence" was published in 1920, so that means this "version" of Paris was sometime in the 1910s or earlier. The romantic, picturesque city of Paris looks only perfect here, because this is what Elizabeth has imagined it would be from all the books she read about it.

The unnerving tension building up from when you start this scene up until you meet the girl is unbelievable, you know that something definitely isn't right, that Elizabeth is living a lie, and that the lie will soon be revealed to her, but, at the same time, you don't want her to know the truth, you know that reality is so unbelievably darker than what you see, that you just wish to live this lie forever, but you can't, you must wake up from your dream, and sooner or later, Elizabeth will.
This was one of the most powerful scenes i ever witnessed in any video game because of the emotions it made me feel, i absolutely love this scene and the DLC.

*This is the most beautiful scene I have ever experienced in a video game.* Do you remember watching spirited away for the first time and being SICK with love of something? I feel like I'm in paradise.*

The Bioshock games do such a great job at making you feel like you're slipping from reality. Especially in Rapture where you know there is a normal world above the seas but you are trapped in hell with no way back.

Holy shit I never noticed that Lobotomy billboard at 6:07. That's the thing Atlas does to you at the end of the game.

This scene, it made me cry. I cannot explain the emotion the music, the scenery, playing in the silence of my headphones tears forming on my face as I walked through. God this game is a masterpiece unlike anything

this is one of the best way to start a game, make everything nice and happy only to destroy it minutes later

I've played this game when i was feeling really down for a reason that i don't wanna tell or remember actually. And it really felt different. Stayed about 1 hour doing literally nothing but admiring the breath-taking view. This scene really hits different.

This scene and the giraffe scene in The Last of Us are two of the most tear-inducing, difficult scenes to play through in the history of gaming. The sheer beauty of these scenes - the way we all wish life was, the way it SHOULD be - only makes it more heart-wrenching when they inevitably come to an end. And in both cases, the action is in the PLAYER'S hands. Theoretically, you could just put the controller down (or even just never hit the appropriate button at the appropriate time) and you can leave Elizabeth (or Ellie, in TLOU) in this beautiful moment forever. But you know that you can't. You know you - and they - have to move on. And you, as the player, are forced to wrench this moment from their grasp, and thrust them back into the horror of their lives. It makes you feel like a monster. THAT is great game design and writing.

Come give us a freeroam mode where Booker and Anna go to Paris on a vacation!

I love this intro, it's so dark and foreboding. It sets the tone for what is to come.

I felt happy in the begining.kind of like a Disneyland feel to it everything perfect and pristine.

this dlc received reasonable criticism, but this fuarking intro is deeply horrorific and beautifully artistic as the same time. Even if the in-game models are limited and you feel them "cartoonish", this part seems literally a nightmare, or worse an allucination or coma that me, you, all of us could have in her same situation. I may be too empathetic, but this is one of the peaks of psychological horror genre in videogames. I also felt in love for the "La vie en rose" song just because of this game

This might be the greatest beginning in all video games. So full of hope, happiness and dread because you know it won't last. Hit me right in the feels!

I love how the whole thing builds through the scene, magical.

Edith Piaf was truly a stunning musical talent, and this scene really brings out the best of La Vie En Rose.

I Agree this game Is A "WORK OF ART" I miss this quality of story and work. And all the music made it Amazing. I Think We will never see this sort of quality in a game again, Such a shame.
