I never took the time to let god choose the right one for me. I always went off of physical appearance and sex. Now I have a son and my gf that broke up with me and always dumps my son off on me . I am so blessed to have my son and I thank god for him everyday. I am now closer to god then ever and living for him. I am finally giving up on all my sin and hardships and letting god drive my life. Think about all the qualities you want in a person. Physical, spiritual, and more and write them down in a journal and be very specific. Then look in the mirror for a long time. If your dream spouse is fit, bubbly and happy, athletic, God focused, whatever, and you're not, that's an issue.

You can't attract your dream person out there if you don't at least try to mirror some qualities that you want in that person. God will not send you someone of your desires, someone who takes care of themselves for example, if you're on the couch and eating doritos all day. Ask God once, then stop praying for "the one", and instead focus on changing yourself to become "the one" for someone out there who is praying to meet someone like you.

I desire a companion/wife greatly and I fight very hard not to fall in that desire to idolatry. I pray almost daily for him to lead me to her if she exists and that if she doesnt, to remove my desire. As for myself I can only wait and pray and study his word.

I used to be unhappy with singleness and I am a teenager this past year God really grown me and matured me in that area, I have learned how to Guard heart (after falling in love with someone who I thought would become my future spouse one day, but now we are just friends, it took me a really long time to get my feelings and emotions to be ok with that) and have a different view on singleness and now I understand that it truly is if we let it, it will be the best years of our life’s to deepen and to grow our relationship with God. of course I still want marriage one day but I am not thinking about constantly and daily like I used to. I am learning that everything that the lord is doing now is going to develop my character in my identity in Christ, and doing that is a lot more important then any other relationship in my life.
