you can’t legally fire someone when there’s a clear and important emergency. and just because you’re short staff doesn’t mean other employees have to fill in or stay. that would be on the manager. which he clearly is.

This is what my mom never did for me, that last moment where she’s snaps her face back to be happy. My mom always vented all of her stresses to me and still does. It caused me to grow up fast and with a lot of anxiety, and a sense of imbalance in the house hold.

Fun fact, it’s illegal for employers to require you to stay when a school or daycare requires you to pick up your child. Not saying this never happens but I know some parents out there need to hear this
