Transformations - Reflection Across The X-Axis

When reflecting objects across the x-axis, the x-values of each original point will remain the same and the y-values will become opposite. This video shows how to apply this rule by reflecting an object over the x-axis.

Does anyone knows how if the object isn't reflect across the x or the y axis? For example, it maybe have to be reflected across a line segment which is parallel with the x axis. Thanks a lot.
