A huge difference between the 2 species is that in the early 1980s, three chipmunks named Alvin, Simon, & Theodore formed a very popular musical trio & starred in their own television show under the management of their adoptive father, Dave Seville.

02:30 I absolutely loved how the video explained the adaptability of squirrels across various environments! It's fascinating how these critters can survive in so many places, from forests to our own backyards.

I actually had a pet squirrel for a while. I raised him since he was a baby. They make interesting pets, but honestly, they're better off in the wild. He had a tendency to climb up and knock over things in the house. And though he never bit me, he could scratch you like a goddamn wolverine. In the end, I ended up releasing him. He hung around for a while until I think he integrated with the wild, or maybe a hawk ate him. I'm sure he's long gone now and maybe has descendants out there. I named him Jumping Jack.

I once saw a squirrel do parkour. It was running, jumped, kicked off one tree to land on another and scurried up that tree. Crazy shit

Squirrels cause more damage than Chipmunks. And the Red Squirrels around here are absolutely omnivore. I've seen them eating other dead squirrels.

My Australian cousin hadn’t seen squirrels when she visited me in the U.S. So I guess the introduction had not been too successful.

Where I live there is a variant of the grey squirrel, the white squirrel. They are not albino. Apparently they are extremely rare but I see them daily on my walks. They are a mascot of my village.

Glad you didn't use the scary music on this video because we don't need to be scared of chipmunks and squirrels.

Squirrels are just rats with fluffy tails... we have them in abundance where I live and they have zero fear... they'll play chicken with you while you're driving. Again, rats with fluffy tails! I wish we had chipmunks...❤
Our squirrels have been known to bite the light bulbs off of the light strings and bury them everywhere; we've been finding bulbs ALL over our backyard for years now!!

So chipmunks are ground squirrels with racing stripes!

They both turn inside out when hit by a high velocity pellet.
