Honda finally has a mainstream, mass-market electric vehicle for sale. The 2024 Honda Prologue boasts unique styling, straight forward controls, and competitive electric range. But for better or worse, the Prologue is built on GM’s Ultium electric vehicle platform and shares much of its design with the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

2:24 - the reality is if you hadn't TOLD me the interior bits were GM i would NEVER know it... and really even now that i DO know it, it's still borderline meaningless. so if i were shopping for an EV, be the vehicle fundamentally a Chevy or Honda underneath thankfully i'm intelligent enough to recognize that i'm NOT buying a Mercedes.

I love that this EV actually feels like a car and not a spaceship

Why not a $30K Honda CR-V vs 50KPrologue? The price difference would be enough to pump gas for almost quarter million miles I would guess. ($3/gal and CRV having 34mpg highway)

How can the fact it qualifies for the $7500 tax credit not be mentioned in the pricing info? It’s still too expensive, but $7500 helps, for those that qualify.

First a Prelude and now a Prologue. When is the main story Honda!

This car is everything but Honda. Will be honest, I feel ashamed as a Honda employee that we produce and sell the Prologue. And a quick note to Consumer Reports, just be honest with your thoughts. Don’t sugar coat your reviews with words such as “Range is Ok or the charging speeds are adequate “. A $60k Honda vehicle it shouldn’t offer 150 kWatt charging and it shouldn’t have ok Range. Just say it sucks!

$57k+ for a rebadged GM ultium with lower grade materials than a $30K Accord. LOL

I wanted to love the Prologue. The seats were so un-Honda uncomfortable that we didn’t even bother test driving it and just walked out of the dealership.

Does this car come with $7, 500 USA rebate?

Wish you would always mention how quiet (or not) the interior driving experience is. Also heated or ventilated seats?

I have had every Honda made in last 12 years. The Prologue is surprisingly the best riding vehicle they ever had. I have the EX and it's nice

funny how all of the complaints from CR are about the carryover parts from GM.

Holy cow 56 grand and partnering with General Motors sounds like the kiss of death.

Charging speed is limited by the GM battery design otherwise known as Ultium. Unfortunately for GM, they are in a parallel structure which means they are limited in their charging speeds. It allows GM to stack them on two layers for larger batteries and greater range, but unless the battery is bigger it can only charge at a slower rate due to the parallel architecture. One of the reasons this car is Honda's first and last joint project with GM. They are now working on their own battery architecture and from now on out it will be their own battery and motors. They decided although GM allowed them to move faster into this market, they don't want to be tied to GM's limited charging speed tech long term (probably for other reasons as well).

I do like the look of the vehicle. But I do think a vehicle with an 85kwh battery is overpriced for $54k. you can find Fords, Teslas or hyundis for much cheaper with equivalent range. With GM reliability? No thx. Honda should've made an EV version of the civic to rival the model 3.

What I like about Honda cars is that they looks same by appearance even though different year. By doing that, user experience is very good.

Wish you commented on road noise which has been an issue with Honda's in the past.

Why can't manufacturers integrate displays into the dash? I say dash, because it is NOT an "instrument panel" since the instruments are these popups. The temperature controls are nice, but they could look more modern, rather than something from 60 years ago. And for that price, wouldn't most people expect something more upscale?

I just test drove this new Prologue AWD Touring along with new CRV, HRV and Pilot. Prologue is the best vehicle Honda currently sells and it happens to be made by GM. This vehicle will be off to a slow start since many boomers will take a year or two to figure out how amazing it is. Most people just have no clue. My local dealer sells Prologue Touring FWD for 42k after tax credit, this is exact price of new CRV Sport Touring, which happens to be much much worse in every way.
