Thank you so much for this review! This is exactly the kind of video I was missing! The Nitro Pro is my favorite. Despite the higher price, I think it’s better to go straight for this model. The Nitro Max also sounds great, but the Nitro Pro is definitely better, and the rack is clearly more stable and reliable. In Germany, the Nitro Pro costs €799.

I got the Nitro Max for my son, and it's actually a decent starter kit. My main 2 problems with it are the hi hat pedal and the ride. The pedal isn't very responsive, and it's like you either have to play with it closed or open, but doing both and it be clean is not happening. The ride cymbal is my biggest issue though. It should have 3 zones but only has 2. The edge, the middle, and the bell. It only has the middle and bell, which you have to hit the bell pretty hard to get the sound to work at all. It just really hinders the playability. Another small issue is the choke on the crash. Very hit and miss. Can't just grab it. You have to grab it PERFECTLY and gets pretty annoying

I'm just in the early stages of research and trying to decide what might be right for me as total beginner, I don't like buying the cheapest version of things, but as beginner also don't want to spend crazy money, I think the Pro might just be the ticket. I prefer mesh heads over rubber for the more natural feel and like the extra features the Pro has over the Max. If I end up not getting into drumming after a while, it should be easy to sell without too much of a loss, and if I do get into it, it's most likely the only set I'll ever need, I just play with instruments for fun at home. Thanks for the comparison video, answers the questions I had after looking at both models.

Hi. Thank you for the comparison. I bought Nitro Max only because, as a new drummer, the features on Nitro Max will be enough for me. Also in small flat it is easy to move and storage. For £250 more for features, what I will not use for a long time it is the best choice in my chumble opinion. Thank you.

Just picked up the pro for $479 on sale. They also had the max on sale for $339, but I think the sturdy frame and extra height alone is worth the extra money

In Portugal the Max is €411 and the Pro is €699. €288 difference. I'm really thinking in going for the Pro as my 1st drum set. I never played drums but i think the better rack and extra features are worth it for the long run.
