Team USA is making the nation proud with its performance in the 2024 Summer Olympics, but many people are surprised at the names competing. The Olympics used to be known as a showcase of the world's best amateur athletes, but many of the names on Team USA are professionals, including numerous NBA icons, Major League Soccer stars and some of the biggest names in professional tennis, such as Serena Williams and Coco Gauff.

Why not? Those players are all Americans. Is there any restriction of players who can play in other countries? Every country has the right to send the best players available to represent their country, including USA. So much for politics.
