There's also a method with the selective displacement spell and you simply put two of those together and you will tp to one and another and that's the afk method that i normally use if it results useful to anyone.

I forget which spell it is but there’s one that lets you damage mobs and it fills your hunger and restores mana. Simply use a few of those on a mob farm then repeatedly fill your attuned gems. It’ll be significantly faster

I always just use the attuned diamonds, the other way just makes you constantly run out of mana which is annoying when trying to use spells early on. Geas is super important too, and it combined with the attuned diamonds makes the mana increasing process a lot less painful!
