Pixel 4 Video Review (vs. iPhone 11)

The original version of this #Pixel4 vs. #iPhone11 video camera showdown had a couple small errors and was missing some visual explanations I really wanted to include. So, I've updated the video, included some new b-roll that better explains and shows off the differences, and in the grand tradition of George Lucas, I'm re-uploading it as a Special Edition and an experiment.

There’s also a huge difference in battery life and screen brightness- a difference most “normal” people care about.

EDR for video makes such a huge difference and I really enjoy this.

Quick comment: The 8 Plus had 4K video recording at 60fps. Did not technically start with the X.

This video is 100% accurate in my opinion. I own both devices. The only area I think the pixel narrowly edges out there iPhone 11 Pro is with selfies. Something about selfies on the pixel look amazing, but I think the iPhone wins every other category.

I’m not joking, I feel like he’s uploaded this exact video a couple weeks ago. The script, the B-roll, everything seems way too familiar. Even if this is video, I feel like he reused some of the script from a previous video

Not up for an upgrade this year. But when I get next year’s iPhone, the first for me to leave my bag is my GoPro hero. I only keep it in my bag because of the wide angle perspective. I’ll just bring that camera with me when I need a more resilient, water resistant camera.

Yo Rene, I’ve watched your videos for a good bit now and I hope you keep up the good work! I noticed a lot of times that I miss your video’s conclusions because I honestly think you are promoting your sponsors at a weird time in the video. I get it, YouTube algorithm for watch time, all that good stuff. But I would rather you did the full ad sponsor after your conclusion. You already mention them in the beginning so I think moving the sponsors to the end wouldn’t change stuff too much. Maybe I just need to re-wire my brain when watching your videos but I always stop watching when the second ad spot starts and usually miss your conclusion. Maybe doing it in the middle would work out too?

I agree with much of what you say. Myself...I’l take 30fps over 24 any day. ‘CINEMATIC” is one of the most overused words on youtube.

Do a lot of creators use their phones for their YouTube channels? Most of the ones I follow seem to use really nice cameras. Most people I know use their phone camera for social media posts or to capture memories. I think that the importance of 24p or 4k60 is a bit overblown for normals.

I question if professional creators are in touch with what most people use their phones for.

8:08 is were i figured how pixel is far away from iPhone, video on iphone simply nails it. Recent DXO mark gave 1 rank in video and 3 rd in photos ( 1 huawei 2 mi )

i am bummed out about iphone's selfie's low light, i had a pixel 2 xl which till this day takes pretty good pics but its getting slower and battery is totally degraded. I chose the iphone 11 pro max cuz of having all three cameras and the insane battery life, if at least pixel had a good battery i would have stayed with it.
