David Cameron's Yorkshire 'hate' comment caught on mic - BBC News

Prime Minister David Cameron has been heard saying Yorkshire people "hate each other", while rehearsing a speech. Wearing a microphone but not on camera, he was thought to be rehearsing an answer to a question on devolution. Ahead of a speech in Leeds, he said: "We just thought people in Yorkshire hated everyone else, we didn't realise they hated each other so much." It is not known whether Mr Cameron was making a joke and Downing Street has refused to comment.

It's so typical of human nature to jump on a politician's' perceived blunder with all the old gripes as if they were somehow relevant to the issue at hand. At the same time we whine and complain that politicians are robotic refusing to make specific statements choosing instead to go off on tangents when asked a question, or tiptoeing down the middle refusing to commit themselves, in essence trying to offend no one but pleasing everyone. You can't have it both ways, let them be human like the rest of us saying stupid things just all everyone else does and putting your personal. Offend-o-meter in storage. Feel happy you don't have a dumb ass like Barak Obama telling Putin's deputy Medvediv: "wait till after the election, then I'll be free to go along with your ideas", picked up on a thought to be off, microphone.
