This is the greatest race in history... and there were so many things leading up to it. It featured 5 of the fastest men ever in Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Justin Gatlin, Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay. Olympic Story time with Justin this week is EPIC

Bolt was not only the greatest, he ran with the greatest.

That generation was unreal. A 9.80 only got you fourth place.

seeing guys drop casual 9.8s and 9.9s in the prelims and semis was so insane

We will never ever seen an era of sprinting like this again. The 5 fastest men of all time competing at the same time. That 2007-2013ish era was SPECIAL. The golden era of sprinting culminating with the London 2012 final.

I absolutely LOVED this segment. Great podcast.

Gatlin has always been portrayed at the villain (on British TV anyway). But he’s actually a really humble, nice guy. He knows he’s one of the best of all time but he can also concede that Bolt was another step up from him and everyone else.

Thank you Justin Gatlin for being such a fierce competitor, I don't think Usain would have pushed himself as hard without strong competitor like you, thanks again

That line up in the final was crazy! Bolt, Blake, Powell, Gay, Gatlin. Literally top 5 fastest men in the world all in one race. Mental.

Those five made Ryan Bailey and Richard Thompson look like side characters🤣

As a Jamaican, I really have a newfound respect for Jason #Gaitlin, with the way he spoke about this race as well as his feelings after his semi. He's a good sportsman. He didn't sound bitter, just glad to be apart of that historic race👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I love the humility in Gatlin....A man who is not afraid to admit his highs and lows.

I played basketball with Justin once. Just a pickup game at the rec. I can't explain to y'all how fast that man is. We're all athletes out there, and we get on a fast break, and we're trucking as fast as we can, and Justin comes FLYING past us, and the dude was f*cking jogging. Zero effort, zero strain, literally jogged past us sprinting.
I had a classmate who played WR for the Seahawks for several years, and we thought he was blazing fast. Justin makes NFL wide receivers look slow.

Imagine the fastest line up in history. Now what’s amazing is that Bolt comes from behind to overtake the fastest men in history to win easy all in the space of under 10 seconds. It’s amazing

That race had the top all time fastest men in history Indeed. Usain Bolt 9.58, Yohan Blake 9.69, Tyson Gay 9.69, Asafa Powell 9.72, Justin Gatlin 9.74. To think Asafa Powell is at number 4, he was the world record holder 2005-2008.

I remember watching this race live. The atmosphere was palpable. The best 100m race ever.

As a Jamaican, I can safely say that, Gatlin is the one that most Jamaicans give respect to in the track and field

I have never dreamed that Gatlin would have given such high level of respect to the Jamaicans.
You have contributed tremendously to Bolt’s success, you’ve pushed him to push himself, thanks so much. we salute you brother, and BTW, you are now a part of this great nation.
