You Are Everything - Stylistics - 1971

The power of music for most people is that it brings back memories of a specific time in one's life or a specific person in one's life. You Are Everything, by the Stylistics, is one of those special songs for me. I played this song and album to death during my sophomore year in high school and You Are Everything was THE SONG I related to about my from afar crush. I finally got up the nerve to call her and ask her out on a date. I was going to take her to a big party being thrown by a senior soccer teammate of mine. I picked her up at her house and we drove to the party, a typical huge, everybody from a bunch of different schools, high school, out of control party. Not twenty minutes after we arrived, she told me she was going to stay longer and get a ride home from one of the seniors. I was CRUSHED! Used for my wheels! Every time I listen to You Are Everything, I think of that whole experience, almost 50 years later! Still love the song though!
