When I was a kid in late 90s, and 00s I watch U.S Army commercials, and show me soldiers in battle field, that have weapons and vehicles; the commercials make me want to join the Army, but this Ad wants doesn't show any of that, it feels like I want to join the Russian Military because their ad looks amazing.

I think one of the biggest issues with current recruiting efforts is that they have lost sight of what recruitment means, or it's purpose. The problem with using identity politics in a "recruiting" role is that only those that identify with those politics even care. I joined the US Army in 2004, it was a few months out of high school, my recruitment started with me walking into the recruitment center, after riding my bike 4 miles there. I had lost almost a hundred pounds over the course of two years to meet the standards. One of the things that appealed to me was that fact that the Army was a challenge. I didn't join to support an ideology, or even because I was patriotic. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, and there seemed to be a purpose for me in the Army.

Today, what purpose do we attribute to our armed forces? Is it this fantasy that the advertisement portrays? I grew up where the recruitment was "Be all you can be" or the more inane "Army Strong" with two clear purposes, that appealed to people like me. Recruitment now isn't about finding people like me, it's about finding people that will agree to serve under insane policies, and be forced to take experimental vaccinations, all the wile our leadership sends us into disastrous foreign adventure and then portrays us as violent and dangerous when we come back and don't agree with their demented direction they want to take the country.
