Adding the trans colors to the LGBT flag implies that trans people aren’t LGBT, which is clearly absurd. The rainbow flag was enough and, frankly, perfect for its inclusive symbolism.

The rainbow colour gay flag is been marred. I am gay and it is despicable that these other groups have leached on our flag. Shameful. When I was living in San Francisco in the 90's, the Rainbow Flag was only flown in the Castro (the "gay" neighborhood). Fast forward 30 years and it is being hung at the White House. So sad.

When is a symbol is not unifying, it's divisive. A national flag unifies, anything else seeks to exclusify and divide.

It's more of a petal-file flag anyways, and there's the opposite of pride attached to it. It is an international embarrassment.

The idea of a flag is to provide a symbol of a common cultural identity around which people can join each other in solidarity. The "pride flag" is the opposite: it is a symbol of defiance against a common cultural identity; a symbol of the rejection of tradition. It will constantly change and will never have permanence because at its root is an ideology of self-centeredness, contempt, and discontent.
