Just came across your video and I wanted to thank you for being so honest, I mean you find a lot of vlogs and tiktoks from people moving to Seoul and they only mention the good parts as if it wasn't normal to feel lost or lonely even if you love it there because we all need a time to get used to a big move like this one, so thank you for showing that side too

This is me with every country I’ve moved to. The wanderlust only takes you so far then you’re there, alone, stressed, the excitement settles and you realise I have to do it now. And your brain is constantly working overtime with simple tasks!

Best thing I do is let myself feel shit for a week tops then I book myself into a hostel, visit some popular arrival cities and I force myself with all my heart to make some friends. You’re not the only person moving to Korea. Once you have some friends it helps so much, just going to a dinner or photo booth or arcade once a week is so refreshing.

Let yourself be a foreigner! Let yourself be a tourist! I forget this a lot then I’ll burn out one day and go fuck it! I’m gonna be a tourist. I do a day trip to a tower or theme park or something, even alone. You get used to the same convenience store and little cafe and stuff, so just go to the overpriced English speaking tourist spots instead for one day. It’s refreshing. You’ll settle in, but don’t ever expect it to feel like home. You won’t realise you’ve settled in until you’ve been settled in for months. Took me going back to Europe to go oh! This doesn’t feel like home anymore.

You’ll get there but it’ll be hard. First 3 months moves so slowly and painfully but make some friends!

Good luck

Such a beautiful and honest vlog! New beginnings aren't easy even tho one chose them out of good intentions and aspirations. Moving out of one routine, comfort zones, and familiar surroundings is a bit of a break. I hope you can one day look back on these first few weeks with a proud and satisfied feeling about your choices and adventures. Good luck for what is to come 💌

So sorry to hear that you feel alone, lost and sad. It’s okay to feel like this, and the pain will kind of fade when the time comes. ❤

Sending you lots of good vibes and positive thoughts. Hopefully this new adventure will be filled with many good experiences and opportunities.

How did you get a roommate, find an apartment, and so much more? Do you speak Korean? Do you go to school or have a job?

Welcome to Seoul.
everything though...
There are not only good things in Korea.
And be especially wary of scams and be suspicious of people you don't know.
