I would love to talk to any living astronaut who's orbited the Moon to ask them, when on the dark half away from the Sun and not receiving Earth shine, what was the view outwardly. Could they see stars? Or, as Armstrong said, at no time could they see Stars with the naked eyes, only other Planets. That they only saw the stars through the "instrument".
