We found an ultra rare arctic cat snow cat from the 70s with four tracks! We have been scouring the Internet for years for one of these, and finally found one that’s a good price and not too far from the garage! We’re planning on fully restoring the snow cat and adding a lot more horsepower to be a support vehicle in the mountains!

That thing DEF needs a 5th wheel on skis pulled behind it for an epic camping adventure.

I worked for a company doing seismic drilling and we built bombies from scratch. They are incredibly simple and all you need is steel, a motor and transmission plus a single differential. Two ebrake handles and your set. We even built our tracks all easy and simple

I can't believe I had a snowcat before y'all! You live in the perfect area for one.

First off, replace every second or third grouser bar with a deeper one and youll have nearly unlimited grip in deep snow.

The more you do the smoother it will be but the heavier your tracks will be, and they get heavy quick!

Keep spare grousers and some belt along with the tools to change them if you plan on driving fast far from home.

The fact that so many people already restore these to mint makes me feel completely okay seeing this sick build. Go hard boys!

The execution of the Flemish guitar music in the first minute is extremely well done. So much so that I felt the need to point it out. Thank you for a fantastic video!

Arctic Cat Quad Trac. I have had two of them over the years. Two speed trans. Low range 2-3 MPH high range 4-6 MPH. They originally came with a groomer on the back that pulled up with a winch. Air cooled motors always failed with hard use. There is one for sale over in PA right now with a swapped out liquid cooled EFI in it. On packed ground they ride like a tank. Deep snow they are fun. The two round openings on the front and back open for air flow. Has a long tractor battery under the seat that is a pain to get in and out. Do your self a favor and relocate the battery to the back by the motor and get a car battery with 800cca. You will be way happier should you need to jump it. Aluminum body front and back. With fiberglass cab. I put dynamat in the cabs of both of them or you will need headphones to run it. You will need the fan on blowing onto the front windshield to keep it from fogging up.

I swear the local snowmobile club used to have one of these exact same machines as their trail groomer. They finally saved up and bought a new one about '99 lol. I'm pretty sure one of the local towns is using it to clear sidewalks/small parking lots.

As a kid, in the early 70s, I got to ride an Arctic cat, and we called it an Amph cat. We drove it across a lakes the Papineau region of Québec. Can.We felt like Kings of the Wild. I love your stuff.

That was an Arctic Cat quad trac. Supposed to come with a 500cc Pantera Spirit motor and they were rated at 48 hp. I remember them well. They built those both at the Thief River Plant and the old Scorpion plant because at that time Arctic owned Scorpion. Sheesh that’s like 45 years old man. No wonder the engines gone. Arctic used the 500 Suzuki Spirit from 1976 up through the late 1980s. Parts are still out there among the vintage guys. It was a good engine. Probably not ideal in this application but a good sled engine on the Panther/ Pantera/Cougar/Cheetah.

Ethan admiring the guys ranger is such an Ethan moment 😂

Edit: those carb floats are pretty standard in snowmobiling, the carb looks like a mikuni vm36, they are bulletproof. Sweet machine yall, love it!

Please use the hydraulic circut for a lift cylinder and make a twin line mini snow wrecker. Have 2 4500 pound winches on the boom and another winch mounted to the front. A mini snowcat wrecker would be 100% premium

You should put a rotax 4 stroke atv engine in it. Since they're made for cvt. Plus a liquid cooled one would give you hot coolant for a heater!

What a neat float setup! When you consider the geometry of how a conventional float moves, it makes sense when you mentioned the incline of the environment theyre intended for. Neat neat!

I'm up in Southern Quebec Canada and we have barely any snow, only 2 good snowfall this winter that melted right away, and it already seems like the spring weather is moving in. Crazy!

This thing is going to be You can easily make it a snug 2 seater. Just make it completely bench seating, and a movable steering column, so if just a driver, you can move the driving position to center of the cabin, right of cabin, left of cabin...
