That's exactly what it is, a social networking app with basic filters, which makes your initial post irrelevant since you were pointing out that instagram for android lacks some features. Point is, with Android you can use any vastly superior photo-editing app and post to instagram with only one extra step- "share". For iOS it's more tedious, open app (eg. pixlr-o-matic), acquire photo, edit, save, open instagram, import photo (look for photo), upload.

I have them installed on both platforms and still prefer iOS for now, but the option to delete comments on the android version is great! Both do the job quite well!

Thanks for being an Apple user and not showing any biased ways. A lot of these Apple users won't admit that Apple isn't the only good brand out there because they dumped too much of their iPride into Apple to ever admit to it. Competition is a great thing for the tech industry and they act like they hate it.

The only reasonable reason I can think of for iOS users to be mad at this is because of the fact that now not only will high quality iPhone cameras have access to posting pictures but, also the cheaper Android phones that take horrible quality photos. (Although, many Android phones have excellent cameras)

yeah exactly, so in the end, both OS's have their own strength, no point arguing over a shell for picture socialising (instagram) about photo blur effects or any other picture editing. Well I still think magic hour is brilliant, fully customisable.

IT BECAUSE NOW THERE ARE MORE USERS WHICH MAKES ITS HARDER FOR YOU TO MAKE IT TO THE POPULAR PAGE. I HAVE 15, 000 followers and now its gonna get harder to get the on the popular page, and thats the whole point of that app. Thats why people, like myself are mad that instagram is now on the android.

Why do people care?? It's a cool application I think Android should have had it a while ago. Are there any other Android apps that do the same thing?

I'll be honest, it kinda sucks that it's no longer EXCLUSIVELY for iPhone, just in the sense that we had something that they didn't felt cool. But when it all comes down to it, it really doesn't matter at all.

That is because there are so many different types of Android devices to choose that fits ones personal preference. The sales of Android devices are spread across all of them, that is why the iPhone looks like it sells so much. If Apple produced 100 different models of the iPhone so that people had more of a choice of personal preference. the sales would be spread as well making the sales of just one particular iPhone seem a lot less. Its not rocket science

I think that it was cool that instagram was iPhone exclusive only, but it only affects you if your friends have android, but since there your "friends" it shouldn't matter.

i think that this is more of an exclusivity thing. but its weird that this is happening over an app that connects to a social network centered around photos. but i can see where this is coming from since it was sort of like this when android user had a drop down menu since the beginning and ios just got it in version 5.0.

I first used instagram on my mother's android phone and I liked it but felt the pictures I was taking were washed out, then a month later I got an iPhone and I really liked using instagram on it, I felt like the interface was better and I love the pictures I take with it.

I have iOS and an Android phone and I like the app on the Android better than on the i device. With that said.... I have been using IG for about a year and I love the community etc. I was happy that I can have the platform on both devices BUT... I have noticed the crop of new users and my follower count has gone way up but so has the rookie factor is way high too. I'm sure that will level out with time and possibly some education outreach.

I'm definitely an Apple environment dweller but I do have an Android phone. So I thought its finally nice to be able to check my Instagram without the need for Wifi with my iPod and iPad. Welcome to Instagram Android users.
