Its called a combat spoon. To this day they are carried, you never know when you will get a chance to eat, and damn well better have a spoon or you will be using your fingers.

ITS NOT A CLIP ITS A MAGAZINE

They wouldn’t usually get issued a pistol, but if they did it would only have 1 or two magazines

Love the series tho keep doing great stuff

Each soldier would not have carried a pistol during combat. Usually officers and select NCO’s were issued pistols. Now, that’s to say that some were picked up here and there.

Magazines* also the soldiers who did have pistols (which weren’t many) would only have around 3 magazine (two in the ammo pouch and one in the gun)

Usually only officers would carry handguns unless a soldier obtained one through an array of ways. Could be sent from home, looted, or probably stolen from someone else

Is that part of the medal connected with the one you found on day 1

Something cool I just learned today is my great step grandpa pushed a tank into a river or something during ww2

This would be a great hobby for my friend if he retires from the military. 😊

I remember the Milkman delivering the glass bottles of milk in a wire framed carrier on the porch.
