The top IRS official is resigning after a deal between the agency and immigration authorities to share sensitive data. For decades, the IRS encouraged undocumented immigrants to file taxes with the assurance that their data would be protected. But the new agreement would give authorities who want to deport migrants access to personal records. William Brangham discussed more with Natasha Sarin.
