A short clip of Hilary Putnam discussing the Kantian rejection of the correspondence theory and the apparent mind-dependence of truth with Bryan Magee in a 1977 program on the philosophy of science. Note, Putnam would go on to repudiate such a strong anti-realist bent in his later thought. In any case, this is from a series on Modern Philosophy called Men of Ideas.

These people are blessing for philosophy students. They make confusing concepts so simple. Cleared my concepts

Such a stimulation for the mind. I'm impressed with Putnam.

Philosophical growth was often spurred by questions of ontology and epistemology. Kant was a latecomer.

That sounds like a very brilliant epistemological understanding. But let me ask you this in light of what you’ve just said how does. Kants categorical imperative play into the picture. they seem to be diametrically opposed frames of reference

But the "contribution" also depends on correspondence, just to throw it back on Kant.

If anything is true it would seem to be that the more we try to find the essential nature of truth the more complicated and obscure it becomes to us. Its almost as if the universe is toying with us.

Kants epistemology is not as much in question as his ethics which are highly problematic. No reasonable, rational human being can abide by a categorical imperative which leaves no latitude for interpretation of experience as your suggesting. These two ideas are in congruence

And this is a bad idea of Kant. Kant is closer to Chomsky, true there is intentional interpretive element of knowledge, but that's not what is interesting, what is interesting is what the apriori forms which the mind has which makes knowledge possible.

Heard of Buddha or the Upanishads that predated him? Kant was the West playing catch up, and his morality doesn’t hold a candle to Buddha’s burning house metaphor.
