Just to anyone watching this video late, the gp5 filters do contain asbestos this has been proved, weapons and stuff just didn't have access to these at the time of publishing this video. He has said this in many other videos

Strictly speaking you can't, apparently soldiers that can't shave beards for religious reasons etc have to use Vaseline to make gas masks form a seal with beards better.

The filter on this one is already officially expired however it still works against some aerosols and probably tear gas.
If you're looking for a GP5 check eBay or Amazon, you can normally find one there for about $10 with a satchel bag for it as well.
You can always put a new filter on the GP5 as it uses a 40mm thread.

Masks ship with decontamination/baby powder to preserve them.
The vast majority of warsaw pact masks were never issued.

The asbestos is in the coffe can filters and the filters ( green ) usually expire after 10-15 years of use ??

i am indecisive about getting any Warsaw pact mask because some of them have decontamination power on them and that makes me worry that they were used in Chernobyl or a radioactive zone
