I just had the joy of being able to test drive an f10 bmw m5 today and the sound of that refined engine gives you goosebumps I have never been in a more powerful car in my entire life.

Try listening to the F11 M5 with your own ears. I have and it is just amazing how extraordinary BMW makes them sound like.

Love both! Had a 550i too soft but the f10 m5 would be the perfect everyday supercar if you need 4 doors

I'll take the E60 over the F10 because it makes a much better sound.

I think over 150mph the E60 will slowly start to creep then devastatingly overtake the F10

Anything lower than that however the F10 should take --- **depending on drivers

These turbos on the F10 are meant to be for everyday low rpm and moderate freeway use they aren't meant to get to 205mph and maintain it because the turbos are not suited for that type of boost like the BPU Supras

BMW made the E60 with the vision of an autobahn freeway cruiser king, the SMG is truly designed for high rev shifting for the highway

Fact is there is no other cars that will do 200+5 = testament to the S85 Engine and the SMG


This is just stock for stock --- if you mod well anything is possible but like I said 205 is the key here -- I don't think BMW will make any car go up that much except for like a super super car -- hence the E60 is going to be a legend

Agree... it's not for cruising. That's why I loved the E60 so much. It's a real sports car with 5 seats. I never drove it without M mode. The new one is just like an AMG now. I still probably end up getting one.

It is all about the torque, makes lots of difference.one thing i like more in the e60 m5 is the sound of that
gorgeous high revving v10.other things, all go for the f10 m5. been watching ur videos 4 years ago gustav.

I agree. The E60 M5 suffers in the torque department at low speeds and under 4.5k RPM. That engine comes to life after 5k really and it just gets stronger and stronger, but it has to be in the power band and at highway speeds to keep up with the F10. Otherwise, the F10 just has too much torque and even 50 more hp. I think a 60mph roll wouldn't look this bad.

The ONLY thing better about the e60 is the sound of that beautiful v10. It takes 2nd in every other thing when compared to the f10. And it should. Glad to see BMW moving forward instead of backward's.

The e60 m5's engine will outlive the f10. Naturally aspirated motors made by M bulletproof works of art. There is a reason that there was so much push back by the M division toward BMW's desire for cost-cutting, wanting the M division to use turbos rather than spending the needed money to refine and completely upgrade the existing technology for NA engines. Sure, the f10 was faster, but sounded like a turbocharged vacuum cleaner----Dirt Devil, Dyson, Eureka. Don't they have a recall on the M5/6?
